Uganda’s national netball technical team headed by Coach Mubiru Rashid has formally announced their 12 women squad that will challenge in the Netball World Cup SYDNEY 2015 (NWC2015) that begins next month from 7th – 16th.

The 12 player squad includes six from the team that won Uganda the world cup ticket in Botswana last year but Nakabuye Haddija, Soigi Martha and Atino susan have been Axed.

According to the Uganda Netball federation Shooter Peace Proscovia who plays for Loughborough Lightnening-in England will captain the side in Sydney, and will play along with Amono Florance, Nanyonga Racheal, Oyella Stella, Apako Harriet, Nakachwa Halima, Meeme Ruth, Achan  Jesca, Ajio Lillian, Nanyonga  Florance,  Namukasa Betty and
Nanteza Sempala Alice as her teammates.

She-cranes-in-singapore1The She Cranes will be competing at their second Netball World Cup, after their first appearance at the event was held in Trinidad and Tobago in the 90s.

After lead-up tournaments including the Diamond Challenge in South Africa, the Team is expected to leave for Sydney this Saturday afternoon the 1st of August aboard Emirates Air at 4pm.

The She Cranes is placed in Pool D alongside Fiji, Wales and fellow African Zambia for the tournament’s Preliminary Round Matches and will kick off their NWC2015 campaign in an all-African affair, when they take on Zambia at Netball Central on Friday 7th August.
