The government of Uganda has finally appointed a substantive head for its Petroleum Authority.
The Agency empowered to monitor and regulate the country’s nascent oil sector.
Ernest Rubondo the man appointed to lead the Authority is an oil industry veteran in Uganda and has been at the centre of Uganda’s oil exploration efforts for more than 2 decades.Mr. Rubondo holds a Master of Science degree
Mr. Rubondo holds a Master of Science degree on Petroleum Reservoir Geology from the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine in the UK. He worked with the Petroleum Exploration and Production Department (PEPD) under the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development since its inception in 1991 and grew through the ranks to become the head of Department in 2009.
