One of Uganda’s most prominent family owned Business the Madhivani group through its Hotel and Tourism Arm Marasa Africa has acquired a 3-star hotel in Rwanda, marking its entry into the central African country’s hospitality industry.

Kigali – Umubano Hotel

The Umubano hotel previously owned and run by Laico regency a brand of the Libyan African investment protocol, was renationalised by the Rwandan government and name Umubano after the Libyans failed to raise the money to keep it afloat.

Now the hotel will be taken over by the Madhivani group which has emerged top in a group of bidders for the hotel.

The Group ‘s Hospitality and tourism Arm Marasa Africa has experience running hotels and lodges from Malawi to Kenya to Uganda to India.
